Sustainable Coffee – Polinfrut Network

Check here the results folder of the Polinfrut Network, in which we can see the results of the studies in coffee plantations carried out by the Polinfrut research network, linked to INCT IN-TREE, in the Chapada Diamantina.

These studies show that it is possible to reconcile agriculture with conservation, provided that the proportion of cultivated areas in the landscape is less than 40%, and that the agricultural management systems used on the properties are low impact, biodiversity friendly. Our research also shows that farms that use low-impact farming practices can increase yields by up to 30% when compared to farms with conventional practices in the region.
